So Jaden is going to physical therapy once a week and occupational therapy once a week. I took a camera to his last session (I don't know if it was physical or occupational - they seem pretty much the same to me) so you can know what happens in his sessions.
They are working on him sitting up on his own. They use the Bumbo a lot and dangle toys in front of him to see his reaching and grasping abilities. His favorite toys, believe it or not, are the Mardi Gras beads!
They have noticed that he favors his left side more. That doesn't necessarily mean he is left-handed, but that his right side is just weaker. So they are working on getting him to reach and grab more with his right hand. He had fun sitting at his little "table" (I think it's a stepping stool for most kids)
And of course, tummy time is a big emphasis! We finally figured out that the reason he hates tummy time is because he likes his hands free to play and explore, and on the tummy time I was doing he was using his hands to prop himself up and when he took his hands out to play, he would face dive. So now if we prop him up ourselves, he still gets all of the benefits of tummy time but he still gets to play.
He also loves to do tummy time and sitting time on the big exercise ball!
I really love both of his therapists, and so does Jaden! While up on the ball he started striking some really cute poses, so get ready for a bunch of pictures of my miracle baby!
And no, that's not a freckle or a beauty mark, but where he scratched himself because I didn't keep on top of cutting his finger nails! :)
