Thanks a lot Obama
I just found out that, thanks to President Obama and the new Health Care Bill, I will be loosing my health insurance. I am 25, wanting to get pregnant, and still going through cancer treatments. I NEED my health insurance, and soon it will be gone. Soon I will have to go to another health insurance company to get coverage, and even though they can't deny me because of my cancer, they can sure jack up my rates. I am currently funded under the Utah Health Insurance Pool which gives really good coverage to those who can't get approved through anyone else. But because it's a state program, the new bill trumps it and it can no longer operate. I don't know when my insurance will be discontinued, but I am not looking forward to the rough times ahead. Once again, thanks a lot.

New Year, New Look
Oh wait. That may have been a one night thing for our Young Men/Young Woman Mystery Dinner. And in case you were wondering - it was me that stole the money. Apparently I was just pretending to be Sister Mary Martha and in fact I was Miss Mary Machete. I never thought it would have been the nun! But regardless, I looked awesome!

Repentance
Okay - I know I have been awful about blogging lately! Ever since starting my job and working 9 hours a day, when I get home I have no desire to do anything but eat and then veg on the couch with my remote. As such, blogging has fallen by the side. But since this is basically my only form of journaling, I really need to do better about it. So I will do better. I promise.

America's Next Top Models
Well folks, there's no hiding it. I come from a family of great talent. So this Thanksgiving, my cousin Jackie, my sister Alex, and I decided to have an extreme photo shoot. Much like those seen in America's Next Top Model. And we decided to be "artistic". So we gave Jackie a ponyhawk:
And then Jackie went to town on our makeup:

then fixed herself up so she wouldn't feel out of place:
Once we were all dolled up, we hit the hay for our first location:

(those are my "intense" eyes - don't worry, this isn't the last time you'll see them....)
Then we moved outside and got inspiration from birds.

Yep - there are those intense eyes again!
In the end, we decided that Jackie was the master of the poses (she seriously didn't even have to think about it and her body would just move into the coolest poses!), Alex was the master of the eyes (I know what you are thinking - how could I not be master of the eyes with my intense eyes, right? I know. But I have to give Alex props for her amazing eyes), and I was the master of the facial expressions and the camera. All in all, it was an awesome night, with lots of laughter, lots of shivering (it was FREEZING outside!), and we could basically make tons of money with our obvious talent!
Creepy, huh.

And one last picture to send you on your way:

Scooby Doo
Well, Alex and her friends decided to go as the gang from Scooby Doo to Sadie Hawkins. They went all out for their costumes, and looked pretty awesome! However, one of the guys decided to bleach his hair to look the part, and I think it has since started to fall out...

Mega Post
Hooray for new computers! My old laptop died on me so that is why I haven't posted in forever. So now we are going to cover a lot! Alex had her first choir concert at it was awesome!
Robbie and I attended BYU's Homecoming Parade, as has become our tradition. He wanted to get a lot of candy, and so he was prepared to do anything it took to stand out:

I asked Rob for a "cool guy" pose, and this is what he gave me. He's awesome! :) Either way, Rob loved them!
I was Luna Lovegood from Harry Potter. I even made my own Quibbler!
Echo was a fairy, Alex was a model from Project Runway, and Robbie was a robot! He practiced walking and talking like a robot for WEEKS prior to Halloween, and I am glad that Halloween is over only so that I can now stop hearing "Roger! Roger! I am a robot!" all in that monotone robot voice.
I think that's it for now. So there is my update! Hope you enjoyed it!
For my company Halloween party, I made these monster cupcakes. Some turned out awesome:and some not so much (yes, those are the eyes that have drooped off the cupcake...):
I think that's it for now. So there is my update! Hope you enjoyed it!

CANCER FREE (well, not technically, but close enough for me!)
I just got the results from my last scan, and there was no sign of thyroid activity! Which means I'm clean! I'm done! I can't even begin to tell you how excited I am!!!! I technically can't call myself cancer free for one year, but who the heck cares:
I AM CANCER FREE!!!!
Go me!!! I am awesome! Now I have to figure out how to celebrate...

Walk For Diabetes
Last weekend there was a walk for Juvenile Diabetes, and since my 13 year old brother Conner has diabetes, we all decided to walk for him! Here is Team Conner:
We all have custom made shirts (made by Alex and Deia!) that show our support for Conner and his great attitude towards dealing with diabetes. Mine was a little different, since my childhood best friend also has diabetes, so I had my shirt say that I support Conner and Christina!

Rob had the day of his life when he met the star wars characters! He seriously stopped when he saw them, his jaw dropped, and then his whole body just started to shake with excitement! He then galloped over to see them, and when Darth Vader asked if he was a Jedi who had the force with him, he about toppled over! He was so beyond excited!!!!
Us girls had fun walking, and Echo (my niece) would let me hold her hand while we walked. She is so sweet!

I love you Conner and Christina and I am so amazed at what you both put up with everyday! I am praying for a cure!

What Bugs Me
Doctors who think they know more than they really do and talk down to you because of it.
Nurses who actually know more but I can't talk to them about it because the doctor insists I talk to him instead.
Dumb school-inflated heads. Just because you have more med school debt than nurses doesn't mean you no more than they do.

My GORGEOUS Sister!
Alex is 16 and went to her first dance last Saturday! Luckily for me, she asked for my help to get her ready. Actually, I would have been there whether she asked me to or not! So now I am just going to post pictures so you can see just how beautiful my amazing sister is:

Glee Made Me Glum
I was SO excited for this show! The pilot was promising, and it looked like my kind of show. If there had been a glee club at my high school, I definitely would have been in it! And then I watched with horror last night as they ruined the most promising show on television. They totally sexed it up where it didn't need it and now I feel like I can't watch it - especially because I gave the lesson on Sunday to the Young Women on how to avoid degrading media. :) Darn those writers! A St. George Weekend!
My dad got my sister Alex, Jake, and I tickets to Aida at the Tuacahn Theater. So we decided to make a day of it! First we decided to climb was we thought was a small cinder cone. It was NOT small!

It took ALL my strength to get to the top
but when I made it I was SO excited!
After we climbed down we decided to drive to Mesquite, Nevada so that my dad could have his favorite ribs. Jake really enjoyed the murals on the outside of the restaurant.
Nevada was really hot. Well, so was Utah, but we only documented it in Nevada.
Alex was really excited to get back to Utah after dinner.
We still had some time to burn before the show so we decided to walk around the grounds of the Saint George Temple.
Jake and I took some kissy pictures, but I decided to spare you all. You're welcome! :)
After that we went and watched Aida which was FABULOUS!!!! There was a live camel! And the costume changes blew my mind! So that was pretty much the best weekend ever!!
